I just wanted to let everyone know that everything is okay and if I get time to get to a computer I will fill everyone in on February Grocery Budget in detail but as of right now we have $73.00 in our budget and tommorrow is the last day of ther month. ;} Yeah! We came in really low this month so I am going to stock up on stuff I think. Let you know everything as soon as I get my computer back.

Bible Time

Tonight was the last night of the revival at our church- and boy has it been wonderful. Wayne Nelson was a wonderful speaker. Praise to God in the highest- our church gave Wayne and Hattie a love offering of $2800.00 and we didn't even beg. Pastor Lonnie just said to give what God led you to give and that was what it was. I know that money will be used to minister to others and for God to be glorified.

Tonight we read the passage Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." A few weeks ago I happened to accept a position in our children's church to help out because the regular teacher was hurt... Well I hate to admit it but I must be truthful... I have not been working at it with all my heart. I was more just doing it to get it done. I asked God tonight to please help me to work to please him... So with His help I will be able to teach this class and please Him doing it.

Daily Shopping Totals

Well I just wanted to clue everyone in... It is Friday February 20, 2009 and we still have $174.00 in our $300.00/month Grocery Budget. I have not been buying stuff without reporting or using other money instead of this money. Just somehow I have not needed to go to the grocery store for anything. I do however have about 4-5 things on my running grocery list {including a new stool for our dining table} So that will probably cost $50.00 or less.

And I have developed a grocery plan... I am going to try to buy 2 Angel Food Regular Boxes at $30.00 each= $60.00 plus one pick 5 for $19.99 {this is our grocery store special where you pick any 5 things for $19.99; it saves money b/c most of the time the items are regularly priced at $5+ } or I will purchase $20.00 in meat on sale if I can get more for the price- which ever is a good deal. And because we have a farmers market about 10 minutes from our church we are going to go there 2x month and buy fresh fruits and veggies spending $5-10 each time. This will total out to be about $90-100, and will be all of our meat for the month+ other stuff. Not too shabby when I would normally buy 3 AFM boxes for $90 and no fresh fruits or veggies :( So this way it is still the same amount of money and we have a little more variety in our meats and we have fresh food too. :)

Thanks for listening...

Bible Time

Well today I am a little late on my posting- I woke up late this morning and when that happens the daycare kids make it very hard for me to steal a few minutes to read and post...

Last night at revival the passage "Be ye angry and sin not..." was brought up from Ephesians 4:26. This passage really spoke to my heart. God has been dealing with me and my sin from anger... From everything to calling bad names, to yelling at my kids and other various ways to sin from anger. Anger is not a sin we are expected to get angry when things happen that we do not agree with, however when we act upon that anger it is a sin and I have very little patience when I get angry so I sin a lot from anger. If I can begin to remember to think before I act and to ask God to take the anger from me- I can begin to learn not to sin in this area of my life. So those of you who love God... please pray for me to not sin from anger. It would be a real encouragement.

Bible Time

Today I read 2 Timothy Chapter 3: This chapter is from Paul and he is speaking to the church at Timothy, the last of this chapter explains that the Bible is God's living word, it is "God- breathed" and is used for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. If we look at the Bible as the final authority and turn to it to make decisions and rely on God to help us make wise choices we can grow closer to him. Having these daily devotionals with God {and you} can help us to grow closer to him, to seek his face. My major downfall is not reading my bible, but is praying for guidance at the beginning of my day and throughout as well. I long to be closer to God and reading and praying are two things that we are commanded to do in order to have fellowship with God.

Bible Time

We have already had revival meetings two times this week and we have another 4 more. We have a guest speaker, Wayne Nelson, who is really good. I am really enjoying being around my church family this week- and it is bringing me closer to God to build a better relationship with him.

Today I read Titus 2 & 3.
Titus 2 talks about mentoring the older to the younger... It says to teach the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands so that no one will malign the word of God. This passage really speaks to me because these are areas that I need to work on in my life and I hope to really get better at these areas especially the self- control.
Titus 3 talks about kindness and how to show kindness because God showed us kindness through Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus did not have to lay down his life but he did for me {and you, too.} And I have a hard time showing kindness to those who don't deserve it when Lord knows I did not deserve Jesus to die for me. When I think about it if I had more "self-control" I would be able to show more "kindness" even when those around me do not deserve it.

Well I took today off because of the President's Day Holiday. When we got up this morning I rewarmed these biscuits, and put out strawberry jam and honey for breakfast. Then we decided to go to the park for our day off. I made a picnic lunch of sandwiches for Little Beast and I and sweet potatoes for Little Belle. I also took FREE ritz crackers and cheese and juice and cookies for our lunch. We only had 1 meltdown when I took Little Beast' s bike away because he pushed it down the huge drain pipe after I told him to stop and counted to three... But after he stopped crying and we put the bike up in the van he was fine and the rest of the time there was great.

Bible Time

Last night we went over to a friend's house and were going to order dinner. Charity and Beast are wanting to add peppers and onions to the pizza while Kiale and I are grossing out with having to share a bed with someone {our respective mates} that ate that stuff. Then Charity, Beast, and I all bust out laughing b/c my post from yesterday was to the T! We are all paired oppositely- but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Today I will be on pins and needles- My mother had spinal surgery on Wednesday which went good- but now they can't get her heart rate under 120/ bpm. So every time the phone rings I am freaking out thinking something might happen to her. I pray that the cat scan and everything comes back clean and they can get her heart beat under control.

Today I am reminded of the story {well so many stories} of when Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. Today I read Psalm 23 {I got this passage out of the index under "when you are sick"} I was not aware that this is the verse everyone quotes on death beds, but anyways. I have talked to my mother before about her salvation and she told me that she was saved... so if this is her time to go I know the Lord knows what he is doing... I don't know how the rest of us will cope but she will "dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Bible Time

Well today I have a confession: I have not read my bible in about a week. The Holy Spirit has been quietly reminding me everyday that I have not and then he got real loud last night at church when the Pastor was talking about revival and things preventing us from having a revival in our heart. I knew the Holy Spirit was talking to me about not having read my bible in so long, so I asked God for his forgiveness and his help to help me choose Him over everything else. So on with what I did read today...

Today I wanted to talk about marriage- and how it works in very mysterious ways. I am married to Beast- I love him with all my heart {even when we argue} and I thank God for him all the time- I know he is my help-meet. However when I really think about it Beast and I are very far from being "compatible" there are a lot more men that I know and their respective wives and it seems that the wives would be a more "compatible" match for Beast and the husbands would be more "compatible" for me. BUT- what is a help-meet? Genesis 2 gives you the four foundational principles for marriage and the word help-meet is used to refer to the wife and husband. A help-meet means that where you lack your husband will help you and will meet you there with his strength and visa-versa if he lacks in a certain area chances are that is one of your strengths. I know that Beast and I have very little of the little things in common {like food choices} but when you really think about it it would be very boring to have everything in common- what would you argue over? {I like to argue} So Lord, Thank you for my Beast, my help-meet, my lover, my fighter, and my friend. And I also pray that you can help us to continue to put our focus on you- because after all that is all that matters.

Total $1.60 OOP

So I bought 4 heads at .28 cents a pound, {No picture} I also bought some sour cream for baked potatoes at $1.97 on sale. Total spent on all five items $4.67- not too bad for it being enough to feed the dogs for the month.

We have $277.18 left in our monthly budget and we have 20 days left. I know I am buying at least 2 boxes of angel food this month @ $60.00. Which will leave us with $217.18 for 20 days. I am contemplating getting the Madagascar deal at CVS {which is like $25-30}. And the Fusion gamer/ KY deal at Walgreens which is $10.01 after taxes- but I will probably wait until later to decide to purchase these or not.

Norton Antivirus

So yesterday I spent a total of about 4 hours on the phone trying to get a refund for Norton Antivirus because it was messing up our computer worse than it already was. I got hung up on 3 times and 1 time I was on hold for over 1 1/2 hrs. They have the worst customer service that I have ever received. And on top of that they were supposed to send me an email by 7:00 pm last night to process my refund and it has yet to get here so that means I have to call them back yet again. :( So that is why I did not get anything done yesterday.

Ok well January made it on $300.00 for groceries plus some party stuff {I was hoping to have some $$ left over to stock up on some good deals but we spent it on last minute party stuff which coincidentally was not groceries but oh well that's over with now.}
So we have now entered February where I am setting another $300.00 budget for the month.

Groceries $300.00 {we are trying to include stuff to make dog food into this as well??}
Kid Items $54.20 {had $80.00 but have this much left after party stuff; includes diapers, clothes, etc.}
Monthly Bills $2130.79 approximately {not all bills are in so far.}

Also... Last night we needed cabbage for the dog's food and baked beans for our dinner...

Total $3.09
Left in budget $296.91

It's Party Time!!

The Double Birthday party was awesome. I will definitely be doing that for the next couple of years. I did get a little grouchy from the stress of having everything to do. And I had to turn around 3 times on the way to the park to get stuff we had forgotten. But the cakes turned out beautifully and it really was easier and cheaper to do that once a year instead of two times in two months. AND-- I didn't have a party 3 days before Christmas like last year. PLUS-- this way my mom can come down from GA {she couldn't do this if we had them separate and two months apart...} So all in all it was really a good party.

This is Little Beast's "Black Race Car Birthday Party Cake..."

This is Little Belle's "Pink and Purple Teddy Bear Cake..."

Talk to you soon,

Bible Time

Today I finished Job's response to Bildad from the other day.

Job Chapter 10: Job starts by saying that he loathes his life and because he hates his life can speak out against the Lord. Asking questions such as... Does it please you to oppress me? and Do you have eyes of flesh? Job continues to ask and confirm that he is not sinful and to say that it would be better if he had never been born that way this calamity would never of befallen him. He is asking God to take away his pain so that he can be happy again all the while confirming that he had no right to that privilege.
