Inventory

Yesterday my SIL and I took all the food out of hiding and reorganized- here are the pictures of it sprawled out in my daycare & dining room. This is an area of approximately 12 foot wide by 26 foot long. (There was still food in the kitchen, too.) By the way, she is awesome in stuffing things and I have a lot more room now. That means more shopping!!

This is from my front door towards the back...

and this is from my back door toward the front.

And all of this is stockpiling from only $300.00/ month including toiletries (not pictured) and feeding a family of 4 plus a daycare.

Budgeting and Breakdowns

I have two subjects I want to touch upon...

Budgeting- In January I started the $300.00/ month for food, toiletries, everything consumable... And I have consistently stuck to the budget, most months I have even come in under budget by $10-30.00 dollars. So I am debating on dropping our $300.00 budget down each month and seeing if I can still do it. I would probably drop it by $20.00 each month and maybe try to get it down to $200-250.00/ month. This will not be happening for a couple of months (Probably after January at the earliest.)

Breakdowns- Well I think I had a semi-nervous breakdown yesterday. Beast has went back to truck driving- his real passion in life. And it has down been a total of 11 days since I have seen him except through videocam online. And the fact that I was missing him more than I could realize kind of hit me and I cried more or less all day- even went so far as to say that I did not like being married to him. But in the light of the morning I can see that I love him so much more and our relationship is a little better without him here because when he is here we don't argue at all and that makes him happier. So if we can just get all of the $$ kinks worked out of our lives and get where we need to be I think we will be doing all right.

Bible Time- Love and Respect

I am starting a book and will be doing this in place of the actual bible- for atleast a little bit of time.

Our young married couples class at church has just started a study book called “Love and Respect” by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. I know as a wife that sometimes I disrespect my husband without meaning to and sometimes he is unloving towards me without meaning to. This is one of those times.

Little Beast is being obnoxious for whatever reason and Beast starts to yell- maybe even spank- regardless, because in my opinion, Beast is being way too hard. {This is where I feel unloved. I feel that if he loves me he would be more understanding with our kids.} So at this point because I am a big mama bear I feel the need to step in and protect my cubs no matter what. I believe that this makes Beast feel disrespected because I am arguing with him when he is disciplining the kids. Thus the “Crazy Cycle” is started in our home. The book that we are reading is to try to help us to learn to respect when we don’t feel loved and for husbands to love their wives when they don’t feel respected- this is very hard on both parts.

Jeremiah 12

This chapter is how Jeremiah complains to God about those who speak of God but do not truly have God in their hearts. God answers to say that he will uproot all who do not truly love him and when he finally brings them back to their land if they do not truly love them he will uproot them again to destroy them at that point.

Jeremiah 11

God had a covenant with the forefathers of Israel. That they would obey and do everything commanded and he would take care of them and be their God. When a covenant is broken it allows both parties to get out of the agreement therefore God no longer has to take care of them.

Jeremiah 9 and 10

At the end of Jeremiah chapter 10, Jeremiah says a prayer that God will deal with him justly and not in anger, it is a wonderful peace of mind that God does deal with us justly and out of love. If God our Father did not love us he would not discipline us when we are unruly. And even though little Beast sings "Mama's gonna spank me, Daddy's gonna spank me..." If I did not love him and want him to learn right from wrong and bad from good I would not discipline him and teach him. But I do love him with all my heart and I will tear his tail up if the situation calls for it. However, there are times that do not require physical punishment, like this morning when he spilled a bowl of cereal all over the kitchen, even though he was goofing around and should know better than to do that, I can not spank him or yell at him because it was nothing more than him being a child.

Jeremiah 8

The one who loves you more than anything else in the entire world is Jesus- He DIED for You!!! And we cannot even live for him, we always go whoring after the things of the world. We need to stop and evaluate our lives are we following Jesus' footprints whether they lead through sunny pastures or lead through cold dark mountains??

Jeremiah 7

We read this chapter and think of how horrible this nation had to be for Gof to turn his back on his own people... Remind you of another nation that we know? When the United States was founded, fought and died for, God was a part of everything our forefathers did... Now if you go to church you're liable to be shot and Heaven forbid a child says a prayer in school, How did we go from a nation founded on God's principles to a nation that can't find Him anywhere?

Jeremiah 6

"They are called rejected silver, because the Lord has rejected them."

To be rejected from the Lord, to have him throw you to the wolves- what a terrible fate. We as Christians are not above persecution or what we consider bad things happening to us but most of the valleys we walk through God will carrying us if we just ask him to. To have God reject us would be a worse fate than even death- because that means that when we need Him most he will not be there because he has turned his back on us.

In this chapter God explains that Israel has been like a woman unfaithful to her husband, but that if Israel will only admit their guilt he will forgive. That is exactly what we must do when we ask for forgiveness from sin- we must first admit our guilt of sinning and then God is just to forgive us of our sins.

Jeremiah 1

This is the call of Jeremiah- God is calling him to warn Jerusalem that he is going to pour out disaster upon them from the North for worshipping idols. He has commanded Jeremiah to not be afraid because He will be with him and keep him safe.

On another note, and I would love any feedback...

Yesterday, I was approached by my Pastor and he asked me if I would like to take over and be the Nursery Coordinator? I would be responsible for making sure people are in there, making sure the rules are being followed, as well as being responsible for any renovations or other stuff to be done in the Nursery. I would actually be part of the "Staff" which means I would probably need to attend staff meetings as possible and would be paid a small amount of money (300-450/month). He asked because he wants someone who knows about the DCF rules and regulations and since I run a daycare I know about them. The paying amount would actually be good since Beast is probably going back to driving and if he does and makes enough for us to live on I will probably shut down the daycare to homeschool full time... So the money would provide me with a small income?? What should I do- it will be a lot of work but if I shut down the daycare I will be looking for something to do with kids.

Bible Time

Sometimes when you step out of the will of God he whispers like a mouse and says "That's not what I want you to do..." Then after a while of whispering if that doesn't work he usually uses someone {occasionaly himself} to roar like a lion and tell you that you are not doing what God wants you to do... Sometimes you justify it by saying "It's not that bad" or "I don't have time" or "Here I will do this instead" But most times you need to just say "yes" and step back into the will of God... so here goes...

1 Samuel 27

This chapter gives an overview of David's life in Gath and how Achish thought that David had become odious to the Israelites and David would forever be his servant... I wonder what he thought when David became King?

As we were checking out and I was watching the screen I realized they were going to owe me money after all the coupons I asked the cashier if they did that and she said no. So I told Beast to go get another Hawaiian roll- we only planned on buying one. If I had realized that we were going to be $1.40 over in coupons I would of had Beast grab another cling wrap and then I would of only paid $.19 for my total but I said the first thing that I thought of and that he would know where to get it and so my total for everything was $1.10- I was so happy when I saw how much I saved. I was jumping up and down in the parking lot while Beast was pretending he did not know me...

Menu Plans

Well I went through both freezers and planned out everything we are going to eat for the next month and a half {more or less} I am hoping if I stick to this I will be completely out of food and the food that has been in there forever.......and ever will get eaten. I have quite a few nights that don't have anything planned but I will be searching for good meat sales and will buy accordingly. We have been sticking to our $300.00 budget really nicely each month and hopefully will continue to do so. If for whatever reason a meal is not used it will be put on the menu at a later date. Also, the meat we will lose is pretty much the only thing listed not the meal I will make it into.

This week has been really hectic my SIL and I went double couponing twice and other shopping as well. I had a CPR/FA class all day on Saturday then church and a birthday party on Sunday then Beast and my dad put in our new window unit on Sunday during church {our regular AC can't compete with this heat} However, the house stayed a cool 76 degrees all day yesterday.

I actually may be losing a daycare child today and it isn't my fault or the mom's fault it is just the people who pay for his child care may stop doing so? We should know later today for sure.

We bought a 15x4 ft pool put it up and everything and now we have to drain it- it is too uneven to risk leaving it up all summer. But we will be putting it right back up after we make it level. We have been in it twice and it is absolutely wonderful- we will be in it a lot this year because it is so hot!!!!

My SIL and I have also decided to start donating some of our extra stock and freebies to different people who need it. We just donated 4 boxes of stuff to my best friend because they are struggling right now and they really needed it. I think our next donation will go to the local Battered Women's Shelter. That should be in a month or so. It is a great way to help others through our couponing and to worship the Lord through it as well.

I have to decide if I am going to order Angel Food today- I did not order last month and can't decide if I should this month- we have a lot of food and I am trying to decide if I need it or if I can wait another month- I really need to clean out my freezer so that I know if I have enough food to get through about 40 days till the end of July.

I also have not washed laundry in like more than a week so I think that is what I will be doing today along with some other cleaning throughout the house? Maybe {Maybe Not}

Also come to find out the awesome Kraft coupons are back- my SIL and I got some awesome deals with these coupons. So it is awesome that we get to do it again.

Publix is going to start being one of our new stores to shop at I've been there twice this week for some great deals. First was for 8 Breyers YoCrunch at BOGO for .80 and I had (2) .50/4 Q so I got 8 yogurts for $2.20 that is only .275/ yogurt which is a lot cheaper than the 2lb tub from Walmart that is $1.98 the second time I went to Publix I did the yogurt again and I got 2 packs of Sandies cookies for .99 each after sales and coupons.

All in all last week was pretty good- got lots of shopping done, got new stuff, helped a friend and didn't do a lot of housework ;)

Happy Mother's Day to all that are out there!!

Today I spent Mother's Day with my little Beast and my little Belle out at the flea market- I got 2 new reverware copper bottom pots- 2 qt and 1 qt for $20.00 and a 3- drawer cart for $5.00 not too bad... I have spent the last hour trying to decide and research a pool for the four of us. It needs to be affordable and fun for all of us. I am looking at a $299 15ft x 48 in deep pool. It is supposed to come with everything it needs except the chemicals- so it isn't that bad of a price- if I fill it up to 46" it will give me 20" of height above the pool level- little Beast and little Belle will be under that height and Beast will be 28" above the water. Obviously we can't dive or anything but living in FL without a pool has gone on long enough- it is early May and already over 90+ degrees outside- the daycare cannot use it but we could and they have a sprinler toy for them.

Today...

Well today I took a pregnancy test- there was a slight idea that I might be although neither Beast nor I are in any mood for more children right now- it was negative. That was a relief but in the time that you are thinking What if?? You tend to start liking the idea of another baby in my tummy- but it is just not the right time- I don't want anymore children until I start thinking that I might already be pregnant.

In other news- I have to decide what I am going to order from Angel Food ministries this month- I have until May 17. But, I am not sure what to order... My sis-in-law and I have been doing OAMC with the AF order so I will atleast order 1 box but I am trying to decide if that is it.

Samuel 13: Saul disobeys Samuel and the Lord- but who would think that making a sacrifice to the Lord would be going against him? When you are called to do something by the Lord- you better do it or else! But.... If you do something {even if it is good} for the Lord but against his instructions you might as well not do it at all- because going against the Lord, no matter how good the cause, is still sin.

Samuel 12: In this chapter Samuel says goodbye. He tells the people to witness against him if he has done wrong- they say he has not. Then he tells them of their history and the sins they have commited. Then he shows them the awesome power of God when he prays for rain and it happens just like that. God created the cosmos and he hears each and every one of our prayers. AMEN!!

Samuel 11

What is the proof that people need to believe in God? When Saul fought against the Ammonites- the Holy Spirit filled the Israelites to believe in Saul and to follow him and to eventually declare Saul as King. But in modern times even though we have the Bible to read and see what has happened which coincides with history. And the Holy Spirit fills us {when we let it} to be able to see and hear from God. But there are so many people who refuse to even acknowledge the possibility of or the reality of God.

Samuel 10: Saul is made King- I can imagine that from the swiftness of this kingship that Saul's head must be reeling. He went from a man looking for 3 lost donkey's to king of God's inheritance in a week or two. Him hiding in the baggage was very reasonable- he did not feel right for the part. But God knows what he is doing even if we humans do not.

Bible Time and 100th Post

Yea! This is my 100th post. I used to think that blogging was dumb- but then I started looking for ways to save money in our household by looking at others' blogs. Then a friend helped me start my own my 2 goals for a blog were 1. Share the gospel. And 2. keep our family in check on our new grocery budget by reporting to everyone on my blog. And so far since January- Now I have kept us at $300.00 or less each month which is really helping our overall budget.

Now on to Bible Time: Samuel 9:

In Samuel chapter 9 the Lord tells Samuel that Saul will come to him looking for donkey that he lost and cannot find- the Lord told Samuel when Saul comes that will be the man to rule and govern over Israel although Saul does not see himself as worthy to do so.

Bible Time

Today I am reading Samuel 8 which is when Israel asks for a king... Which is a really bad idea because a king will steal their sons and daughters and their fields and servants and will oppress them. But the part that really sticks out to me is how the Lord spoke to Samuel when he said that they were rejecting him as king like they had done the entire time since he took them out of Egypt. The words that he chose sounded like he was a human not God and sounded like he was sad that they had rejected him. And to tell the truth he is sad when we reject him as we do on almost a daily basis when we sin.

Since I did not read yesterday- I read Samuel 6 & 7 today.

This is the story about the ark of the Lord being returned to Israel. The Philistines returned trying to get rid of their curse and sent with it 5 gold tumors and 5 gold rats representing the 5 rulers that were in Philistine. Then the Philistines were going to attack the Israelites at Mizpah but Samuel cried out to the Lord and the Lord delivered the Israelites from the Philistines.

All I want to say is Thank you, God for my 2 wonderful children. Our children are not really ours God has loaned them to us to teach them His way and guide them down the path of life. My spiritual side knows this while my sinful human side says that I would literally die if my children were taken away from me. So Samuel's mother did a very brave thing by letting her little boy go back to the Lord voluntarily. She had more courage and strength than I will ever have.

Today I read the last chapter in Daniel which has information about the end of times. The "man" told Daniel that the end of times would come when "there is a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then." and those who "sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life and others to shame and everlasting contempt." There is much speculation as to whether this is the end of times? Well no one actually knows but God but I would make sure that I am prepared and know the true Creator of the cosmos.

March Food Budget Update

So, really sorry but I have not been keeping up with pictures and posts of everything we have bought so I am just going to give an update of what we have left in our budget for the next 11 days.
I will say that I went to Walgreens to get the kids' easter basket stuff by using the money from the huggies deals I did last week. I had $59.96 in products including easter stuff and other stuff that we were getting. I had $5.95 in advertised savings and $23.99 in coupons which left $30.02 as my total before tax then I had $30.00 in RR from the huggies deals that left $.02 as my subtotal with $3.68 in tax for a grand total of $3.70 OOP. That was a savings of $59.94 or 99%!! That is my kind of therapy shopping!

On to the budget update:
Cash: $166.57
ECB's: $15.96
RR's: $16.00
CVS Gift Card: $9.11

Total $$: $207.64

So for 11 days we have $18.87 to spend each day {unlikely that we will spend anywhere near this much} but we have run out of a few things. I would like to end up with $50-$100 at the end of the month {without lacking for things we need} but we will see! ;}

I have had feelings that the end of days was coming very soon. No person knows the exact time, but I think it is close. And I feel I must say if there is anyone out there that does not know that they know that Jesus Christ died for them and have asked him to come into their life and live in their heart, please do so. Today I read Chapter 7 in Daniel. I will be honest the dream of four beasts that Daniel has in this chapter does not make much sense to me. It seems that the beasts are either Satan or kings on earth who are idol worshippers and that they basically kill each other out of greed and then the Most High comes in to reign forever and ever which makes me think of Christ's second coming and how everyone will worship him in the millennial reign and forever.

Today I read chapter 6 of Daniel- The Lion's Den! Little Beast loves this story {well the cartoon version of this story} because God shut the lions mouths. To read this story as an adult and to perceive it as an adult makes you sit in wonder and awe at God's awesome ability to shut the lions mouths. It also makes me realize how I do not completely trust God at all times like I should. Daniel is being put into a lion den and is still praising God and I worry about everything. And normally I say that I just stress a lot over everything and it is just how I am but actually it is a sin that I need to ask God to help me with. I will probably always struggle with this sin, but if I realize it is a sin and ask forgiveness at least I can start to deal with it and move past it.

Chapter 5 in Daniel is about the writing on the wall. Lots of people claim to see phenonemons such as ghosts and things. But here is a true "ghost" {actually angel from heaven} story. Imagine all of these people drunk and carrying on and then a hand appears and writes on a wall. I think I would probably faint {and that would be me sober} and the only person who can read it is Daniel. God uses Daniel in so many miraculous ways and really shines through his life. I plead with the Most High God to shine through my life and to show others himself through me.

Continuing in Daniel, I read Chapter 2 today of how Daniel asks God to reveal the dream to him so that he can interpret it to the king and save his and his friend's lives. It is so amazing and awesome that God who created everything including the sun would care about each and every one of us. Yesterday in my Sunday school class I asked my pre-k's how to we thank God and for what. One little girl said "When we get a boo-boo we thank God for making it better." To know that a 5 year old would thank God for healing a boo-boo and most of us don't thank him at all it makes you sorry for taking everything we have for granted. So Thank you God for everything you have given me especially my husband and children and Lord, please help me to carry out your will in my life today and everyday and also Thank you for the sun. Without it or rather without You life would not be possible.

Today I read Daniel Ch. 1- I think I will stick in the book of Daniel for a while- but God has the control, truly {Plus if it weren't for Him I wouldn't read the Bible to begin with...}
Ch.1 was basically about how Daniel and his 3 friends were taken {God allowed it} by the Babylonians to live in the kings palace and how they asked the guard to only let the eat vegetables and water, b/c they did not want to defile themselves with the king's food. The guard said ok {God made him} and the 4 men looked better after 10 days of just vegetables and water than the men eating the king's food {God made that happen too}.

Do you ever have a day when you just want to thank God for everything... My life, My family, everything because without fresh mercy and fresh grace everyday we wouldn't of even of woke up today- the mere thought of even blood pumping through our veins today {God controls that too} makes you want to Praise the Lord God Almighty. Praise God!!

I'm Back

Well I think we may of gotten all of the kinks worked out of our computer now. It didn't take as long as I thought it would and it helped to prove to me that I can live without a computer- it is just very inconvenient. When you go to make something- and need a recipe- but OOPS- you don't have a computer- can't get the recipe- can't make the food. But- I can make it... I am not going to bore you with everything we bought in our grocery budget for February but I will say that we ended up with about $57.00 leftover which I used to buy various things including lunch on Sunday. We also just got a new baby in my daycare and I am providing all formula which is very pricey$$. So I have not decided if I will be separating the baby stuff from our budget, keeping our budget how it is and making due, or increasing the budget from $300 to $350 to accommodate the baby stuff.
But when I know you'll know. Till then talk to you soon...

Tonight was the last night of the revival at our church- and boy has it been wonderful. Wayne Nelson was a wonderful speaker. Praise to God in the highest- our church gave Wayne and Hattie a love offering of $2800.00 and we didn't even beg. Pastor Lonnie just said to give what God led you to give and that was what it was. I know that money will be used to minister to others and for God to be glorified.

Tonight we read the passage Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." A few weeks ago I happened to accept a position in our children's church to help out because the regular teacher was hurt... Well I hate to admit it but I must be truthful... I have not been working at it with all my heart. I was more just doing it to get it done. I asked God tonight to please help me to work to please him... So with His help I will be able to teach this class and please Him doing it.

Well I just wanted to clue everyone in... It is Friday February 20, 2009 and we still have $174.00 in our $300.00/month Grocery Budget. I have not been buying stuff without reporting or using other money instead of this money. Just somehow I have not needed to go to the grocery store for anything. I do however have about 4-5 things on my running grocery list {including a new stool for our dining table} So that will probably cost $50.00 or less.

And I have developed a grocery plan... I am going to try to buy 2 Angel Food Regular Boxes at $30.00 each= $60.00 plus one pick 5 for $19.99 {this is our grocery store special where you pick any 5 things for $19.99; it saves money b/c most of the time the items are regularly priced at $5+ } or I will purchase $20.00 in meat on sale if I can get more for the price- which ever is a good deal. And because we have a farmers market about 10 minutes from our church we are going to go there 2x month and buy fresh fruits and veggies spending $5-10 each time. This will total out to be about $90-100, and will be all of our meat for the month+ other stuff. Not too shabby when I would normally buy 3 AFM boxes for $90 and no fresh fruits or veggies :( So this way it is still the same amount of money and we have a little more variety in our meats and we have fresh food too. :)

Thanks for listening...

Bible Time

Well today I am a little late on my posting- I woke up late this morning and when that happens the daycare kids make it very hard for me to steal a few minutes to read and post...

Last night at revival the passage "Be ye angry and sin not..." was brought up from Ephesians 4:26. This passage really spoke to my heart. God has been dealing with me and my sin from anger... From everything to calling bad names, to yelling at my kids and other various ways to sin from anger. Anger is not a sin we are expected to get angry when things happen that we do not agree with, however when we act upon that anger it is a sin and I have very little patience when I get angry so I sin a lot from anger. If I can begin to remember to think before I act and to ask God to take the anger from me- I can begin to learn not to sin in this area of my life. So those of you who love God... please pray for me to not sin from anger. It would be a real encouragement.

Bible Time

Today I read 2 Timothy Chapter 3: This chapter is from Paul and he is speaking to the church at Timothy, the last of this chapter explains that the Bible is God's living word, it is "God- breathed" and is used for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. If we look at the Bible as the final authority and turn to it to make decisions and rely on God to help us make wise choices we can grow closer to him. Having these daily devotionals with God {and you} can help us to grow closer to him, to seek his face. My major downfall is not reading my bible, but is praying for guidance at the beginning of my day and throughout as well. I long to be closer to God and reading and praying are two things that we are commanded to do in order to have fellowship with God.

Bible Time

We have already had revival meetings two times this week and we have another 4 more. We have a guest speaker, Wayne Nelson, who is really good. I am really enjoying being around my church family this week- and it is bringing me closer to God to build a better relationship with him.

Today I read Titus 2 & 3.
Titus 2 talks about mentoring the older to the younger... It says to teach the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands so that no one will malign the word of God. This passage really speaks to me because these are areas that I need to work on in my life and I hope to really get better at these areas especially the self- control.
Titus 3 talks about kindness and how to show kindness because God showed us kindness through Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus did not have to lay down his life but he did for me {and you, too.} And I have a hard time showing kindness to those who don't deserve it when Lord knows I did not deserve Jesus to die for me. When I think about it if I had more "self-control" I would be able to show more "kindness" even when those around me do not deserve it.

My day off...

Well I took today off because of the President's Day Holiday. When we got up this morning I rewarmed these biscuits, and put out strawberry jam and honey for breakfast. Then we decided to go to the park for our day off. I made a picnic lunch of sandwiches for Little Beast and I and sweet potatoes for Little Belle. I also took FREE ritz crackers and cheese and juice and cookies for our lunch. We only had 1 meltdown when I took Little Beast' s bike away because he pushed it down the huge drain pipe after I told him to stop and counted to three... But after he stopped crying and we put the bike up in the van he was fine and the rest of the time there was great.

Walgreens :(((
1 Fusion Razor 9.49 reg 8.99 sale - 4.00 coupon = $5.62 after tax and got a $6 RR back... good so far then on my 2nd transaction... Saved $4.50 ~ 44%

1 KY Yours and Mine 19.99 - 5.00EasySaver coupon - 5.00 Newspaper coupon= $11.39 after tax tried to pay with my $6 RR from before to make it $5.39 OOP and they would not let me they said I already used 2 coupons and couldn't use anymore... but RR is money off my next order not a coupon right?? So I asked them to key it in and she said they were not allowed-- I WAS HOT!! But I paid for it anyways and left with $6 RR but paid more OOP. Paid $11.39 OOP Saved $10.00 ~ 47%

Grand Total OOP: $13.06 + $5.62 + $11.39= $30.07
Total Saved: $62.95 or 68% that is more than half off...

What I don't understand is why do they say RR is money off your next order if you cannot use it however you please {as cash.} CVS's ECB are not like that they are treated as cash that you can use as you please.
Sorry- no pics put everything up first before I wrote post.
