Daily Shopping Totals

So our kids are having a big birthday party at the end of January and we were going to buy the supplies out of our food money but I just don't think that will work- I still need to buy a few things this month and our birthday budget I think will exceed what we have left. So Beast and I both put up $40.00 a month towards the kids for diapers, clothes, etc. and I think that is where their birthday supplies will be bought at least most of it.
So onto what I got last night...

Butter $1.88

only one of each is pictured.
3 sugars $5.00- this is a savings over the 10lb I normally buy- I got 5lb more for only $.56 more.
3 oils $6.00 - this is a savings over the gallon I normally buy - I got 16oz more for $.50-1.00 less.
Total $10.96

Total spent last night $12.84

Daily Shopping Totals

Walgreens trip:

St Ives face wash Reg Price $3.99
St Ives face wash Sale Price $3.00
St Ives face wash My Price $0.00

I just bought 4 bottles of face wash using 4- $2 off coupons and paid $4.84 w/ tax and Walgreens gave me $5 in Register Rewards- which is like ECB from CVS and you can use it on your next purchase to get stuff at no OOP cost. So Walgreens basically paid me .16 cents to shop at their store- can't wait to see what they'll have tomorrow for me to buy.
It was so cool because I checked out with the same lady as I did when I bought the shampoo the other day, she was amazed at each transaction that she wanted to know how I do it. So I gave her my blog address and the couponmom.com website.

BTW- I got the coupons for this trans @ http://southernsavers.com/2009/01/free-st-ives-at-walgreens/ But it will only work till today, Saturday.

Total Spent: $4.84 with $5.00 in RR back
January Total Left: $257.12

Daily Shopping Totals

OK so we went to the flea market today- just to spend some time together as a family. Which was great- at least on Little Belle's part- she did not cry not once. Little Beast on the other hand- was whining and complaining the whole time which got very annoying.
So while we were there I picked up 50# of gold potatoes, 40 count oranges, and 4.25# of bananas all for $20.00- which isn't bad when you consider how much the grocery store would of charged me. The potatoes should last me about 2-3 months hopefully so that's really only $5 a month for potatoes, I can freeze the oranges and give them to the kids so that would be nice and I got 10 for a $1.00, The bananas will probably last 1-2 weeks but I got 1.25# for free and only paid a $1.00 overall for them.

Here are the potatoes spread out in the shed...

Here is the box of oranges...

Here are the bananas...

Go see how much my friend Charity saved this morning- and she told me couponing wasn't worth it. http://adayin5.blogspot.com/

Total Spent: $20.00
January Grocery $$ Left: $261.96

Going to get some St.Ives face wash for free now... See ya later!!

Daily Shopping Totals

Well so far so good no groceries bought today.
Did however buy 3 papers for a total of 16 inserts- one had a extra one stuck in there! ;)

I will be posting my Menu Plan later on- hopefully tommorrow head over to http://orgjunkie.com/ to find plenty more menu plans. Also Kraft Foods has a great resource under their "Dinner" option to type in 1-3 ingredients and let them come up with the recipe- great for when you have no idea of what to make and want something different.

Tonight we had...

1- 1lbs chicken breast diced and tossed in bread crumbs to make "chicken nuggets"
1 can of cranberry sauce
1 box of chicken flavored rice

Nice and easy- plus something a little different than normal chicken nuggets.

Daily Shopping Totals

As of January 3, 2009 at 6:15 pm we have spent very little of our monthy grocery budget.
{This is partly because we have a pretty nice stockpile of everything- from "over" shopping the last few months. So I may not spend as much on our groceries this month- but I also want to learn to shop for what I need that week- and that's it.}

On Thursday January 1, 2009 we spent

$2.25 on Applesauce for Little Belle and Baking Soda for the Laundry, etc.
~AND~

$4.12 on Butter and bananas that were on mark down.
On Friday January 2, 2009 we spent
$1.49 on bacon bits for our baked potatoes.
